Forgotten Beauty

Residental

Noisy

by Huib on Aug.03, 2009, under Abandoned, Belgium, Residental

A while ago Vinnie and I traveled a long way to Castle Noisy, we went there because every urbexer need to go there someday so we travelled 2.3 hours to go there. I liked the location and I liked the trip, but it isn’t a real beautifull location, I think we all would agree that only the outside it beautifull.

Some history:

The official name of the castle is Château Miranda, later named Home de Noisy.
The first owner was Graaf de Liedekerke-Beaufort, he lived in the castle from 1816 to 1890. During the French revolution, the family of the Count from Liedekerke-Beaufort has left the nearby castle of Vèves to hide in a farm outside the village. After the revolution, the farm took the name of castle and finally became this gigantic house. The castle is built in 1866 by an English architect called Milner.
After WWII inherits of this family leave the castle. From the 1950’s the castle is used for 20 years by the national railway company NMBS. The castle was used as a home for the children of the NMBS employees.
After the 1970’s the castle was used for sport and activity camps for children. In 1991 the castle is abandoned.

Abandoned house

by Huib on Aug.02, 2009, under Abandoned, Belgium, Residental

Vinnie and I visited the crypt and where on our way to Anna but our navigation system showed us a other urbex location on our route.

We took the first exit and went to the coordinates that the Tom Tom was showing, it was a 1 km walk in the forest and we found this place.

The place was really great (not) and I’m sure my life would suck if I didn’t found this place.

Maison Viron

by Huib on Apr.21, 2009, under Abandoned, Belgium, Residental

On 24-01-2009 Vinnie and I visited Maison Viron in Belgium, It the first location where there was a small change to be discovered because the owner lives right next to this house.

Entering wasn’t that difficult we walked around the house twice before we found a way in. I enjoyed my stay inside the building I only think it wasn’t my best photo shoot (more the worse I ever had)

While leaving the building we where discovered by the owner and we where send of the property, later that day we visited a other location and we where discovered there also (The send police at us with a lot of noise there where three cops on that location, but that will be my next post.)

Some history:
Baroness Viron used this beautiful house as her country house. But it is unused for over 30 years now. The 80 year old baroness now lives next to the abandoned house.
